“Creating a strong business and a better world are not conflicting goals- they are both essential ingredients’’– William Clay Ford, Jr. Executive Chairman, Ford Motor Co.

At Orchestra Technology, we believe that talent isn’t just about technical and intellectual skills, it’s also about willingness to learn and share, the ability to work in teams, to be able to think out of the box, entrepreneurial skills and other soft skills like emotional intelligence and creativity. In an effort to develop such talents, Orchestra Technology has been offering paid and unpaid internships to a diversified group of students across multiple cultures and educational background through its Human Resources group under the name of ‘OT Upskills’.
OT Upskills Undergraduate program aims to provide the students a first-hand exposure on different career paths available to them. It enables them to find out the domain where their interests lie. Exploring is a very important part of higher education and going by the cliche, “a try before you buy’’, this Undergraduate training program here helps the students to explore. At Orchestra, students gain work experience to acquaint themselves with a discipline they are looking to learn about, ensuring and validating that the degrees they are going to earn, are the right ones for them.
The program attracts a mix of students to cultivate global talents and fosters a multi-cultural environment to develop a productive attitude towards cross-cultural understanding and ability to perform on a global platform. Our effectual Talent Management Strategy is planned and designed around three major dimensions of learning- Education, Experience and Exposure. Interns gain skills and competencies by rigorous coaching and mentoring in the work place. Goal of this program is to not only enhance their skills but also cultivate qualities such as leadership, effective communication and decision making. Orchestra Technology partners with universities across USA to offer paid and unpaid internships followed by placements in Engineering, IT, Telecom, Accounting and Management domains.

“OT Upskills Graduate Program” offers a greater learning experience to the college students who are seeking to earn an advantage before they earn their degrees. A well- executed graduate internship program at Orchestra enables the college students build industry knowledge, have an onsite experience on their major field of study and have a practical exposure to work environment. Interns learn to apply their academic experiences into real life situations and put to action their classroom lessons. OT gives them an outstanding source of networking contacts to build professional relationships and references. The program helps them add and refine the valuable skills, thus helping in making right career choices.
“OT Upskills Post-graduate program” is designed for the graduating students who are all set to make their way through the increasingly more competitive job market. The program invites the potential graduates to strengthen their work skills and professional work habits; something which they couldn’t have learned in the intramural set up of their universities. Orchestra provides them a unique learning opportunity by creating learning objectives and converting them into active responsibilities. In the current economic and employment scenario where ‘dog-eats-dog’, this higher level program enables the interns stand out in the crowd over those who have limited practical experience. The interns, after they are trained, are seen as prospective employees with their newly acquired work-ethics, knowledge and persona.
For a successful business, one of the most important attributes is to spot talent and develop it. Believing in the philosophy of nurturing talent as a corporate responsibility, we expose our interns to business challenges and encourage them to be creative while having fun. This program grows with OT employees as its confederate. The OT team is thankful to one of its team members, Helen Tian, for introducing ‘OT Upskills’ to many of its interns.
It’s a matter of great pride for us that numerous interns who went through OT Upskills program are now full time employees of Orchestra Technology and working in the fields of Software Development, Testing for cutting edge technologies like VoLTE, IMS, Intelli-Agent Platform in different parts of US.
At Orchestra Technology, we believe in continuous improvements and growth and our OT Upskills program is constantly yielding good results!

“I interned for Orchestra Technology about 3 years ago and it was undoubtedly a good experience. The leadership is extremely knowledgeable and will give you work that will have an impact down the line. You will have chance to deal with clients and work on exciting new changes in telecommunications field.’’– Samiha Verma- (Summer 2011)
“The whole experience was perfect to me. Being a part of accounting team, I gained skills in my field, giving me a mind-set and perspective to think about problems and resolve the issues. I got to work in a warm atmosphere where I had an opportunity to have lot of interactions with friendly seniors and had lot of fun’’– Dan Sara Lu (Summer 2014)
”As a student of Business Studies, my projects during internship at OT was based on marketing area. OT is a very professional company and everyone works in a very professional way. Also, it is technologically very advanced and I got to learn and work on newest technology. I found my colleagues and supervisors very friendly and helpful. Overall, it was great learning experience”- Han (Carrie) Lu (Summer 2014)
“My responsibility as an internship included reviewing design and requirements docs to understand Intelli-agent software product features, specifications, and functionality; Monitor defect status to ensure that they are resolved properly and in a timely manner. I began with individual testing the network on phones using the company product and using various function to see how it worked, what process was used and how the data was further viewed and analysed. It was a great opportunity and practice for me to integrate the knowledge and projects learned in the university into real industry and business field. Meanwhile, I had another good chance to witness how professionals at Orchestra showcase the strength of product for potential customers in terms of great presentation as well as creative and comprehensive Brochure.”- Lin Ma (Summer 2014, Full Time employee-OT)
“As an intern, I have enjoyed the learning, working and challenging on each day. As a young engineer, I’ve experienced two stages as learning and contribution at OT. I started by learning the basic architectures & functionalities of IA, doing IA testing including sanity/ integration/ regression/ stress test. Testing engineers plays a very essential role on the initial phase of each project. They need to work closely with the project manager and developers, clearly understand the testing requirement from customer. This requires not only technical knowledge and skills but also patience, details-oriented and good communications. As part of the team, I’m honored to grow together with our product and enjoying the learning, challenging and the sense of achievements.”– Jeremy Yao (Summer 2014, Full time employee- OT)

Fun memories and Learning
“It was quiet challenging for me change my daily schedule completely from school to intern/real job. I needed to adjust myself from every aspect. Here I have an interesting story to share with you. I usually got up late when I was at school as most of classes started from afternoon, however when I started the internship in OT. I needed to go to office around 9am and consequently I often felt sleepy after lunch. Once I got into sleeping in office and Anuj saw it, so he asked “Are you sleeping or what are you doing”? I was dazed and didn’t know how to respond. At that instant, Jeremy pulled my leg and told me to answer, “你就说你正在做测试工作” (I am doing test). So I answered “I am doing test”. Of course as a smart and sharp man, Anuj saw that I was not doing test. He told me that I should pay attention and be dedicated. This one was a serious and important lesson to me, I got to know that it was different being in school and being in an office, I must change my habit to adapt to new environment. Right now I always keep early hours and make myself energetic at working hours. We always need to learn something from mistakes. – Lin Ma.
“We had fun while working. Other than working, I also watched football games during lunch hours. At those time, I felt we are a team and together, we can achieve.’’- Han (Carrie) Lu
”In those day, I was deeply impressed by working atmosphere at OT. Apart from daily work, we celebrated our Chinese festival- The Dragon Boat Festival and got together with team members.”- Dan (Sara) Lu
